Ceramic industries in Sikkim

Sikkim snuggles in Himalayas and it’s the godly region of the English and Indians. This state is the least populated and is the second smallest after Goa. It has varied geographical features due to the Himalayan ranges. The climate over here is vivid from subtropical to alpine. Agriculture is the basic economy of this state and terrace farming of rice was introduced here by the Britishers. Cardamom is highest cultivated in this region and is exported in the other parts of the world. There are no major large scale industries located in this region but industries like ceramic production, distilleries, tanning, breweries, watchmaking etc are found here. This state also has the second highest growth rate and many industries are coming up in this area. Small ceramic units like the pots; wall-hangings etc are produced here. Various minerals including copper, talc, quartzite, coal, dolomite, lead etc are mined in this region. These minerals are further used for the ceramic production. Due to abundance of minerals found in this area the ceramic industries are blooming and making their business in this region. The raw materials can be easily found in this region thus the production of ceramic goods become easier.
